What a mess!

The worst thing about summer vacation is that the extra bedroom in my house becomes a storage room. Right now, it's ridiculously messy with piles of stuff I need to take to school. Does anyone else have this same problem? It really gets to me after about a month of the messiness.

We've been cleaning out my grandmother's house so it's even messier than usual. Plus I have all my Target dollar section purchases. I'm heading to school tomorrow so I'm hoping to get some of the stuff cleaned out.

I found these great Adirondack kids chairs at Kmart today for only $10.  I have a beach theme in my classroom so I think they will be perfect and I love the teal color. I usually don't shop at Kmart. I'm more of a Target girl but I headed there today because they have packs of 24 Crayola crayons for 25 cents. I stocked up for school and for a Haiti mission trip at church.

I got some crates to make the crate seats that I've been seeing everywhere on Pinterest.

They have some at Target for $3.99 but I got these at Big Lots for $3.30. I'm going shopping for fabric this week so I'll let you know how they turn out.

  1. My spare room looks exactly the same! I'm going to school for the first time tomorrow and hope to cart most of it over there. Love the Adirondack chairs!

  2. I'm a new follower and new second grade teacher as well! I've taught kindergarten for two years and am moving up. Can't wait to see everything you post!

  3. I am crazy excited to find your blog! Let's just say you can count on me to purchase your units!! I teach 2nd grade Treasures as well and was so excited to see what you have made so far! *sorry I tried to find an email instead of leaving the long comment!* Your units look great and I excitedly called the other 2nd grade teacher at my school to tell her about your blog! YAY! :) 2nd grade is such a great age, I'm starting my 5th year in 2nd, love, love it! They have a good bit of independence and not as much attitude as 3rd/4th graders!

  4. Thanks for your comments everyone! Ashley, you'll have to let me know if I need to add anything to my units. I am always open for comments. If you want to email me, my email is I am in love with 2nd grade too!

Thanks for commenting! Have a blessed day!
