What a mess!

July 17, 2011

The worst thing about summer vacation is that the extra bedroom in my house becomes a storage room. Right now, it’s ridiculously messy with piles of stuff I need to take to school. Does anyone else have this same problem? It really gets to me after about a month of the messiness.

We’ve been cleaning out my grandmother’s house so it’s even messier than usual. Plus I have all my Target dollar section purchases. I’m heading to school tomorrow so I’m hoping to get some of the stuff cleaned out.

I found these great Adirondack kids chairs at Kmart today for only $10.  I have a beach theme in my classroom so I think they will be perfect and I love the teal color. I usually don’t shop at Kmart. I’m more of a Target girl but I headed there today because they have packs of 24 Crayola crayons for 25 cents. I stocked up for school and for a Haiti mission trip at church.

I got some crates to make the crate seats that I’ve been seeing everywhere on Pinterest.

They have some at Target for $3.99 but I got these at Big Lots for $3.30. I’m going shopping for fabric this week so I’ll let you know how they turn out.

  2. I am crazy excited to find your blog! Let's just say you can count on me to purchase your units!! I teach 2nd grade Treasures as well and was so excited to see what you have made so far! *sorry I tried to find an email instead of leaving the long comment!* Your units look great and I excitedly called the other 2nd grade teacher at my school to tell her about your blog! YAY! 🙂 2nd grade is such a great age, I'm starting my 5th year in 2nd grade…love, love, love it! They have a good bit of independence and not as much attitude as 3rd/4th graders!
