Today I have some awesome math resources to giveaway along with an item of your choice and a little teacher pick-me-up.
My math anchor chart pack isn't quite done yet but you will get it emailed to you when I finish in the next few weeks. The Starbucks giftcard will be emailed to you when the giveaway is finished.
I love teaching measurement, because it is such a fun unit to teach. I have a ton of hands on activities to go along with it & my students have a lot of fun. :) Lisa Learning Is Something to Treasure
Math is not my strength and I am working at improving this skill. I love to teach fractions though. It's so much fun to bring in items for them to separate such as M&M's, Hershey bar or make their own food out of playdough and cut with plastic knives.
I love teaching data and graphing because the students are so involved in the entire process (and I get to sneak in a little more reading/writing than with the other units) :)
I love teaching probability. I have some wonderful games that my kids used to LOVE doing. Such a shame it is not currently in my 2nd grade standards. I am not sure if that changes with Common Core but I haven't taught probability since I left 4th grade 3 years ago.
I shared on FB! http://www.facebook.com/prec0ci0us/posts/349947131747075
I like teaching money. At the end of the unit I have a store where the studetns figure our discounts, tax and change back of fun items I bring in like cookies, kool aide, stickers. It's fun! Peggy
I LOVE teaching measurement! There are so many hands-on activities that we do to learn about measurement, and my students really enjoy doing those. They think it's hilarious when they can measure the teacher!! :)
I love the 3D shapes lesson because I use toothpicks and marshmallows with the kids instead of straws and twist ties like our EDM books suggest. Of course, we have to eat some when we're done making shapes. :o)
I love teaching graphing AND addition/subtraction. There are so many fun activities to help the children understand and learn the concepts. Amy Where Seconds Count
I love teaching symmetry and rotations, reflections and translations. At the end of the unit we use Pixie to create our own tessellations using all of our new skills. The kids love it (and so do I)!
fractions! love helping the kids understand parts of a whole- always a link with food so that makes it extra fun ( ice cream scoops, pizza slices, chocolate bar pieces...yummo) kathy walker klwalks@gmail.com
