Reading Response Unit 6

Happy Monday everyone! There's nothing like starting off Spring break with snow. I finished Unit 6 of the reading response prompts for Treasures and I was reminded how much I don't like the stories in the last unit. The only story I really like is "Mice and Beans."

3/26 -- Typo fixed on page 4. Please download these again if you have already grabbed a copy.

Just a reminder -- When you try to download these prompts, don't click share. That sends me an email and you won't believe how many of those emails I get a day. All you need to do is click download because I have already shared them with you.

Are you on Spring break this week? Even though it's snowing, I am so glad to be off.  I'm going to spend some time with my new nephew this week.

Let's Get Acquainted linky

Since I am finally on Spring break, I have some time to participate in this fun linky party at Flying into First Grade. This week, the theme is sharing our favorite nouns. So here goes..

My favorite person is my new nephew Corban. He's not doing much yet but he's so adorable.

My favorite place is Neyland stadium. There's no better place to be on a fall Saturday.

My favorite thing is hard to pick. I would say that my favorite thing is my MacBook Pro. It was one of the first things I bought with my TPT earnings and it was made my life so much easier.

I'm not sure if TPT counts as a thing but it probably tied with my Macbook Pro. It has made my teaching so much better and really helped me financially.

I love all kinds of animals. I had a cat for 20 years so I guess she would qualify as my favorite animal. She died around this time last year and I still think I hear her in my house sometimes.

I would really like to get a dog at some point but I don't have a yard right now

Have a good night!

Spring Word Searches

Whew! This week is kicking my butt! I only have one more day to spring break and it seems like it is never going to get here. To celebrate spring (even though it is super cold here), I made some spring word searches.

You can grab copies of these free word searches from my TPT store.

Those Darn Squirrels (freebie)

Have you seen this book?

I ordered it recently in my Scholastic order and it came in last week. I read it to my class on Thursday and we had such a good time with it. It is a very cute story about some mischievous squirrels. My kiddos loved this story. They laughed and laughed.

We were working on sequencing and used this story to practice with beginning, middle, and end.

You can grab a copy by clicking on the picture above.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend! This is my last week of school before spring break and it's going to be a crazy one. I guess I should probably go plan.

My Week

Hello everyone! Happy almost Friday! I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know that I haven't forgotten my blog. I've been on an emotional roller coaster this week. My grandmother passed away late Sunday night. My grandmother was the most loving person I've ever known. She would speak for an hour on the phone with telemarketers and know their entire life story by the end of the phone call.

My grandparents were married for 70 years. This has been really hard on my grandfather as you can imagine.

On Tuesday, my nephew was born. This is the first time I've been an aunt and I am so in love with him.

This was my first day back at school since last Thursday so I don't have any school stuff to blog about. I hope to be back in a few days with some great blog posts.

Planning Ahead for April

I went ahead and got my April center packs done this weekend. If you are like me, it takes forever to get everything laminated and cut out. Even with a month of time, I seem to be cutting everything out at the last minute. March is going to be a crazy month so I know that this will probably be happening again as I get my April centers ready.

This month I decided to do 12 centers instead of 10 because my higher kids were getting done with their centers earlier in the month. Twelve is usually enough to keep them busy.

You can find this pack in my TPT store. Click on any of the images to head over to my TPT store.
