Memory Books

April 29, 2013

Are you getting ready for the end of the year and trying to cram everything in? I sure am. I was looking for something to keep my kiddos busy while I do individualized testing and I decided to make my own memory books. Kids love memory books and I love reading what they found to be the best things of the entire year.

Since I can never decide on a cover, I decided to create several from you to choose from. All 12 of the covers are included in the pack.
This book is designed to be printed double sided and stapled down the middle. There’s nothing that bugs me more than having to cut and paste pages to make it into a book. I hate to waste paper and cutting and pasting takes too much time. So, I’ve got it all set up for you to simply print and copy.
There are 14 pages for the kids to complete once it is made into a book.
Since I didn’t want to leave anyone out, I’ve also made a 1st grade and 3rd grade version. Click on any of the pictures to view these books on TPT.

So what’s your favorite memory of the year? Leave me a comment and I’ll choose 3 winners to win a free copy of this pack. The giveaway will end Tuesday evening at 8:00 eastern time.

  1. My favorite memory of the year was our open house the weekend before school started. I looped up with my same kids this year and they were stoked to see their same classroom all changed around and their same classmates/teacher! Tons of hugs and smiles that day! 🙂 Bforbes89@gmail.com

  2. My favorite memory will be all the laughter in my classroom. With 27 students, those days seemed few and far between, but they're most definitely my prized memories.

  3. Cute! My favorite memory… this year has been a huge blur! It's my first year in 3rd grade after 6 in 1st and 2nd. I have loved watching my 3rd graders turn into little people this year! We did have a fun Halloween party with a Nacho lunch and I loved our mini-concert we had with an up and coming young pop singer last week!

  4. Those are really cute….My favorite memory is playing a dodgeball/bowling pin game with my kids during PE and playing tag with my kids at recess. They love when I play with them and it's such a great opportunity to work on sportsmanship and playing fairly. They also love when they get me out! I'm looking forward to field day b/c that will be one of our last days to play some fun games together and we have some water activities and it's so much fun to get them wet! HA!

  5. Two memories tie for first place. One was the excitement my students shared in the weeks leading up to my wedding. They counted down the days and were so excited! The second memory is the happy dance we all did when everyone mastered two digit subtraction! We were so excited!

  6. My favorite memory is from last week. I had my students write their own narrative stories. We typed them and bound them. The students illustrated them. We did a cute about the author on the back. Another teacher even made me an award sticker that looked like a Newberry award to put on each one. They took their books and we read them at Barnes and Noble Thursday night!! They read into a microphone in the children's area. Then entire store heard including parents, grandparents, ESEP teachers who came to support, the assitant principal, and the store customers!!! It was a great night. I am so proud of them.

  7. Goodness these look so precious!! My favorite memory from this year is the Thanksgiving Breakfast. It was absolutely heartwarming. Parents donated pancake mix, bacon, syrup, juice, milk, etc. Then they came in the last morning before school let out for Thanksgiving. They helped prepare breakfast and then got to eat with their babies. It was so sweet to look around and see all these families together. Loved it! thepolkadotowl@gmail.com

  8. My favorite memory is the fact that a student from last year comes to my room every day after school. He was truly one of my favorites, so I love hearing what he is learning this year and how his family is.

  9. My favorite memory is from our Grandparent's Day celebration! Seeing my kids with their grandparents and how proud they were of the gifts they made them. And then seeing grandparents trying to squeeze into 2nd grade desks so they could be close to their grandchildren. It was a fun morning!

  10. My favorite memory was Christmas this year. I love the look on the student's faces when they see that the tree has been put up and they love getting to help put the lights and decorations on it. They especially loved all the presents for them under the tree. I wasn't a very good present wrapper, they knew they were getting books. But when I brought in the biggest Christmas gift, a coin operated candy machine for our classroom, you should have seen their faces. They were speechless, for once! 🙂

  11. My favorite memories are how our buddy class, sixth graders, love their second grade buddies. Playing games, reading, helping them with Mass parts, and supporting them during my chemo treatments. To make it easier for their buddies during this time, the sixth graders organized an all school Pink Day, Crazy Hat and Hair Day, end of chemo party, and now inviting them to a surprise party for their First Communion. You should see how the second graders look up to them and love seeing them in the halls at school and getting high fives.

  12. I love your memory books. They are really cute and look like fun for the students. My favorite memory this year has been our trip to Pioneer School. We spend a day back in time and live, do chores, learn in a one room schoolhouse, and make cornbread like the Pioneers did. The students have fun but don't believe they could give up what they have to live like this. They are amazed to learn that the teacher actually take turns living with families as their pay to the teacher. It is a fun day.
