Five for Friday (May 24th)

It's Friday so it's time for Five for Friday!

We had part of the week with kiddos. They came to school until a half day on Wednesday. So we spent this week wrapping up our year.

I gave my students books for their end of the year present.  I didn't take the time to make the gift cutesy like last year because I have been sick for over a week and didn't want to fool with it.

We made the time capsules from Hope King's End of the Year writing bundle.
I loved to see what the kids thought they would accomplish by the time they graduate in 2023 (crazy!!!).  One of my sweeties knew he would see Iron Man 3 before he graduates.  I loved that one of my kids knew he wouldn't have glasses by then and another would be able to text.
I going to miss these kids so much! My school only goes to 2nd grade so the end of the school year is a bittersweet time.

Here's what my room looked like today. We had a teacher work day yesterday and until noon today to get our rooms ready for summer. It's so weird to see the classroom look this empty.

I was so bored waiting for noon to get here today that I decided to change my calendar to August. One step ahead!

First thing I did on my first afternoon off -- take a nap!

In other news, I have been selected as a guest pinner for The Container Store until September.

  1. Love the August calendar already! I've noticed that each year I put more and more things on my "end of year" list that are actually "back to school" things, just to be that little bit more ready when we go back.
    Love visiting this blog. :-)

  2. I've just found your blog and started following along! What a great idea giving the gifts out in little bags! I've seen gift buckets but the buckets themselves I haven't been able to find cheap here in New Zealand (not that I need to start getting ready yet- we don't finish until December!)

  3. Let me take a moment to express my jealousy over pinning for the Container Store. :)

  4. Guest pinner for The Container Store? How exciting! How many sections of each grade do you have if your school is only K-2? I would love to teach in a K-2 school!

I am now a follower of your blog after following you on TpT and Facebook! I am a huge fan of your ideas and products!!

  5. I think that books are a very nice gift for students. It is funny that you are already set for August, a brand new school year adventure. It looks like an end and a new beginning. I am sure that the time capsules made for an interesting read as well.
