We have been drawing conclusions this week (which to me is just another way to teach inferring).
To encourage a little creativity, I drew a clothesline on a piece of paper and let my kiddos come up with clues for their future job. These turned out pretty good but we are working on drawing things a little bigger to fit the paper.
This job was a zookeeper. See the cage, timer, obstacle course, treats, X-ray, and shot.
This one was a teacher. I’m not so sure about the hat but I guess the apple, iPad, and pencil go with the job.
This student wants to be an artist. She drew a smock, painting, beret, and paint cups.
I had a hard time guessing this one. He has a suit, sunglasses, and a truck. We talked about him drawing a badge also. He wants to be a secret agent.
We also read “David Goes to School” today. Since this is an easy book for them to read, it helps them use the pictures and words to draw conclusions. Plus some of them have a lot of background knowledge about getting in trouble in school. 🙂

Well, that’s it for tonight folks. Have a wonderful Friday!
Cute idea with the clothesline clues! I'll have to use this with my kiddos soon 🙂
Fun clothesline activity! I love the secret agent one! I use David Goes To School for inferring too.

Love the clothesline clues book and activity! (And seriously, I could give some of my students a postage-stamp size paper and they wouldn't be able to fill it!)
I'll have to look for that book 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
