Must-Read Monday with Lulu

February 18, 2014

I’m linking up with Amanda at Teaching Maddeness to share a few books with you.

Must-Read Monday Linky
If you could ever see my classroom, you would know that I love books. If Amazon gave out reward points, I would be one rich girl.
One new series of books that I love sharing with my kids is all about Lulu. My kids love listening to me read about Lulu because, well, she is a brat. She’s a throw herself down on the floor until she gets what she wants kinda brat.
The first book in the series, by Judith Viorst, is called “Lulu and the Brontosaurus.” My kids and I are almost finished with this one. This book is – Let’s be late for gym so we can read some more – kinda good. And we never ever want to be late for gym.

One of my favorite things about these books is how the author’s voice shines through. She has a unique style and I love seeing my kids trying to imitate that in their writing.

“Luly Walks the Dogs” is the second book. My kiddos last year loved this one and I can’t wait it to this year’s class.

I’m so glad that I checked on Amazon because a 3rd Lulu book is coming out in April. Oh happy day!

I will be pre-ordering this one ASAP.  I’m so excited now! It’s like Christmas when those little Amazon boxes come in the mail.

Happy reading!

  1. You sound like me! My coworkers tease me about the steady stream of Amazon boxes that arrive at school. 🙂 Thanks for the Lulu recommendation – heading over to my favorite online book source right now.
