Five for Friday (on Saturday)

March 7, 2015
I’m linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly “Five for Friday” linky  party.

It was so good to go back to school again this week. We missed two weeks of school because of snow and ice. Since this week was Read Across America week, we practiced cause and effect with Horton. I drew Horton on my Elmo and my students followed along. Then, they wrote a cause and effect from the text on Horton’s ears. I love how these turned out.

I know that we are all over winter but I just had to share these two books that I found. “Frostbite” is a rhyming book about a dog made out of snow. My students loved this one. “Earmuffs for Everyone!” is about the inventor of the earmuff. It is told in such an engaging way. Love this one too!

We are learning about measurement in math so we did this fun activity from Hope King to go along with the book, “How Big is a Foot?

I have been searching for the perfect product for my curls for years. I tried a trial size set of Devacurl and I am in love. Thank you Linda Kamp for the recommendation!

I closed on my new house yesterday. I have to say that I could have purchased this home without TPT. As a single gal, it is hard to purchase anything on a teacher’s salary. TPT has allowed me to save money and pay off my debts so I can afford a new home.

Have a great weekend! I’ll be busy packing and moving a few things before the movers come on spring break.
