It’s time for my weekly visual plans. Last week, I was way overplanned. I keep forgetting how long it takes 2nd graders to do anything at the beginning of a school year so I cut back on my activities this week.
For phonics this week, we will be learning about long vowels with silent e.
Reading is all about main idea. Main idea is so hard for 2nd graders that I know that it will not be mastered by most of my students this week.
For grammar and writing, we are working on subjects of sentences and writing a personal narrative.
We are finishing up our addition strategies unit this week.
As always, you can download these plans to get the links to the freebies.
Have a great week!
You're about a week or two ahead of me . . . I can just copy your wonderful plans! So detailed. Did you do a blog post that outlines your day, in terms of time slots? I'm curious to see what it looks like.
What I Have Learned
Loving how explicit your plans are…but I agree with Jessica! I'm curious about your time schedule too! 🙂 Would love a link to check that out as well! 🙂 Thanks for posting your plans! 🙂 It's so cool to see what folks are doing in their rooms each week! 😉
Regards!

I am so happy and grateful that you offer such wonderful plans on your site. I am moving to second this year and start Tuesday and am getting ready to start my 8th month of pregnancy. These have been a lifesaver because they have given me some wonderful ideas to start with. I also love how you break down the concepts as I do mini lessons for Daily 5 and this is awesome. Please continue this as I am so appreciative because it is helping me with the transition so much of what to do to get started in this new grade with these kiddos. Thanks again.
